Learn & Lunch with The Life Science Cluster & SANDS – Theme: Licensing Agreements
January 16 @ 10:00 - 12:00
Do you want to sell your product in new markets, but lack the capacity to enter new countries? Or do you want to take advantage of technology developed by others in your own product portfolio? Licensing might be the answer.
The invitation can also be downloaded as a PDF here.
A licensing agreement could be the tool you need to combine technology owned by others in your own product portfolio. Licensing is also a great opportunity for those of you who own technology but lack the capacity to commercialise it, either in your home market or in other foreign markets.
Licensing agreements provides a multitude of advantages. As a licensor, you may draw on local licensee’s market knowledge and recoup R&D costs by earning royalties. As a licensee, you may exploit the first mover advantage made possible by combining technology from others within your own product portfolio.
But there are also pitfalls to be aware of. How do you safeguard your IP and avoid disputes over ownership of future R&D results? How do you balance the profit sharing? How to define and calculate royalties?
What will you learn?
•Why enter into license agreement
•How to structure a licensing agreement
•Defining royalty basis and calculation of royalties
•Handling responsibilities for licenser and licensee
•Handling confidentiality and protection of data
The aim of the workshop is to cover the needs of the participants. Thus, we are open for additional suggestions to discuss during the workshop by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The workshop includes lunch.
